Who Will Deliver My Baby?
Your baby will be delivered by one of our 5 doctors at Northwestern Prentice Memorial Hospital.
What Do I Do If I Have A Question Or Concern About My Health After Hours?
Call our main number. If it is after business hours or on a weekend you can leave a message that will be answered on the following business day. If you have an urgent issue, you may press 0 and ask the operator to page the doctor that is on call. If you are having an emergency, we advise you to call 911 immediately.
When Should I Contact My Provider?
Contact your provider immediately if you experience any of the following:
- Leaking of fluids
- Baby moving less than normal
- Contractions 4 or more times an hour before 34 weeks
- Contractions every 4 minutes or closer after 34 weeks

There are many procedures that can be done right in our Chicago office; however surgical procedures and childbirth require a hospital setting. What Medications Are Safe To Take During Pregnancy?
Our providers at Northwestern Women's Health Associates urge our patients to never take any medications during pregnancy without first talking to your Chicago OBGYN. Here is a list of medications that are approved during pregnancy.
We recommend following the directions on the bottle unless your provider has advised otherwise.
- Extra-strength Tylenol (no more than 2000 mg/day)
- Sudafed
- Chlortrimatron
- Benadryl
- Robitussin
- Tums
- Maalox
- Mylanta
- Milk of Magnesia
- Pepcid
- Tagamet
